Hey my dear blog-reader,
whether you are family, a friend, a fellow Liberal Arts Student or someone who just randomly landed on this page - I am glad you ended up here:
Welcome :)
It seems surreal that in only ... hmmm .. one, two ... twenty... yes, thirty-six days (!!) I will get on a plane to Cape Town where I'll consume massive amounts of free drinks and scam through my Lonely Planet excitedly until I am finally - FINALLY - in South Africa!
I just came home from a lovely lunch in one of Tilburgs small cafés with Tess, a girl who spend one semester in Holland and actually lives and studies in Cape Town. To talk to her about my plans made me even more excited and she gave me valueable insider information, from prepaid card to best food I should really try!
Not there yet though, Jule! I really feel like I have to kick myself back into reality in Tilburg and finish exams before my head completely wanders off to the exchange semester and all the nice travelling I plan to do.
There are quite some things I want to do before I leave. I feel like making the most out of the last weeks I am here. So the pact I made with myself is quite simple:
Appreciate the hell out of what I am about to miss!
The things I like doing in Tilburg and the time I can spend with the friends I made here is high on the appreciation list. Probably, I will switch back and forth between Holland and Germany in June, so actually the same goes for my beloved friends and family in Germany -
Saying goodbye in steps!
A method my friend Roos developed one evening under the influence of lots of mint tea, which slidely puts things into perspective and adds some reality to all the things that go on right now.
You'll hear from me soon...
bring it on, preparations, bring it ooon!
